Mega Man's the one with the strong sense of justice. Roll thinks they got just what the deserved. Besides it's not like letting them tough it out in a cell goes against any of the three laws of robotics. Except maybe the one about following all orders given by a humans. But I'm sure Dr. Light must have told her not to do what the Two Evil Scientists say so it all works out.

If I remember my Laws correctly, Law 1 is that a Robot cannot allow harm to a human through action or in-action. Law 2 is that a Robot must obey a human unless it cause Law 1 to be broken.

So, since Wily and Eggman are bound to hurt someone with there mad, world domination schemes, Roll keeping them locked in there is FOLLOWING the three Laws.

But also, keeping them in there without a visible source of food is disobeying Law 1.

Sometimes sacrifices must be made to ensure safety. Look @ I Robot, all those robots had the 3 Laws, and they still held humans against their will because they were a danger to themselves. And the main CPU said some human deaths were necessary to keep that protection.

IIRC, isn't there also a sort of a "Zeroth Law"?

Basically, the one that states that if the violation of any (or all) of the Three Laws would be in humanity's (as a whole) greater interest, that robot was effectively allowed to do so?

For example, terminating Robotnik/Wily would probably be of great benefit to mankind (removing a potential threat to humanity at large). Eliminating two lives to ultimately save countless others...

Gah.

I mean "greater benefit", not interest...
