It makes me want to look up the density of emeralds, and some reference as to what the true volume of the master emerald is so I can figure out its weight. Its probably several hundred pounds anyway.

It's not Volkswagen size. It's only about the size of a Prius.

she has all the emeralds, so she could chaos control the truck up there... wait... couldn't she just chaos control the master emerald?

Once you remove the master emerald from the alter, the island doesn't fly any more.
And its easy to tip the master emerald of the alter using its own weight.
Funny thing is, they never really showed the island falling in adventure 2. But thats probably because knuckles wasn't freaking out since he did it.
