There is a formula to this, though it's mainly a snowball of bad events for the heroes. I figured the last comic would make it semi-obvious that Turbo and Rosy were already as good as infected, so this comic is more confirmation than anything. As for the question of why they didn't separate before, they really had no reason to separate and knew they'd eventually have to recombine anyways to go help Mega Hedgehog. However, even if they'd tried to, they wouldn't be able to, and the Two Evil Scientists would have activated their controllers right away. That's not to say it wouldn't have thrown a major wrench in the 2ES plans, but it wouldn't have saved Turbo and Rosy.

I knew it, man they are screwed...

Posted by cqclegoman on Tue Mar 4th 2008 at 7:42am
Dear god, the heroes are screwed.....How are they gonna win now?

Posted by midiman on Tue Mar 4th 2008 at 7:51am
this is it, the scientists played it all out very well, every move. they lured in the heroes and use their own moves against them..."checkmate" end of the world as we know it

Posted by Prism (Guest) on Tue Mar 4th 2008 at 7:52am
Aw dammit...

Is Wily's perpetual smirk annoying anyone else or, is it just me?

Y'know, while at this point it will probably turn out to be useless, I really wish they'd address the scrambler Tails made to prevent the 2ES from hacking the adapters.

This Would be a perfect time to put in some of the other sonic/megaman hero people such as team chaoitc or who ever eles is in megaman

@BeowolfTH
If a horse comes into the strip can I blame you for it?

Posted by Joe4evr on Tue Mar 4th 2008 at 9:14am
To paraphrase Dr. Eggman from years back, "This is a bad day for the good guys."

Posted by DivineAll on Tue Mar 4th 2008 at 9:40am
Oh... crap. Let's just hope that the 2ES haven't infected Glitch with Mirandas. BTW, where ARE Quint and Ashura?

Posted by Matt M. (Guest) on Tue Mar 4th 2008 at 10:01am
That's the one flaw in their plan. Those two have the potential to screw everything for TES.

Posted by Shadari Draconis on Tue Mar 4th 2008 at 11:31am
Despite your statement being rather true Vivvav... it's still odd to hear villains being called protagonists... Seems almost paradoxical.

lets just face one fact, the 2es were good wily wanted to help dr light and robotnik had his good running eggrestaurant. BUT then the state came in play and destroyed everything.

Posted by The Darksoul (Guest) on Tue Mar 4th 2008 at 1:09pm
I can only think of ONE thing they can say if they actually fail this time. "NO! We won! WE HAD ACTUALLY WON THIS TIME!!"

Posted by hvac_tech on Tue Mar 4th 2008 at 1:58pm
watch DivineAll is right and Quint and Ashura come to the rescue but they have some thing that will prevent them from becomeing under the 2ES control when they combine

Posted by Gyro C (Guest) on Tue Mar 4th 2008 at 2:59pm
The solution:
Human Shields anyone?

Posted by namada (Guest) on Tue Mar 4th 2008 at 3:35pm
There is no way the heroes can win. Unless Buzz, Joe, and Gemel show up somehow.

Posted by Lonewolf78 on Tue Mar 4th 2008 at 3:39pm
Oh wow.Just, wow.Doomsday for all!Yay...or...not?

Posted by jsonic872 on Tue Mar 4th 2008 at 4:00pm
what about that wireless reciever thing turbo made?

Posted by kutterkirby on Tue Mar 4th 2008 at 4:35pm
My mind is boggling!
Wah!
Dah!
Impressive!

Posted by XSarustaX on Tue Mar 4th 2008 at 4:41pm
I vote for Buzz, Joe, Quint, Ashura, and Gemerl to show up. ...maybe Cream, but I'm not sure how she'd help...?

Holy shit wait, if Wily moved back into the fortress... and Cream is there... maybe she fixes everything by accident?

Best fallacy to any plan: Having your cross-bred six your old daughter foil it.

@vivvav
No they aren't. They're the eponymous characters, and are central to the story, but they're definitely antagonists.

Posted by Dark Star (Guest) on Tue Mar 4th 2008 at 5:58pm
@Matt Ulmen: So you watched History of the World by Mel Brooks too, huh?

In any case, I can almost hear Murphy's Law picking up momentum the longer things go in the 2ES' favor. After all, it's already been stated that there's a scrambler, Gemerl, Buzz, Joe, and Beedra are still outside the 2ES' control, Ashura and Quint are still unaccounted for, and a whole shitload of other things could happen to ruin the 2ES' plans. Right down to something as simple as a group of electrons jumping in a place they shouldn't have jumped in all the Mirandas and the Miranda Drones, resulting in them all shorting all at once. Granted, that's a 1-in-a-million chance, but then again, if stories and movies are anything to go by, those crop up 9 times out of 10.

Posted by Raganui on Tue Mar 4th 2008 at 6:19pm
Hmm... this is certainly a turn from the normal. The only thing I can think of for them to do that would be able to save things... is for Sonic to run and Mega to attempt to hold them off. This is for one single fact. If Sonic can find the Emeralds, I don't think that even fused, that many people could very well take on SUPER SONIC. Plus, it's been so long since he's been used, it could very well be the OTHER factor the TES forgot, like the Giant Death Machines.

All he'd have to do is Chaos Control the Miranda-drones and Miranda into something that would destroy them, such as the ocean or even into space, they'd burn up on reentry. Seriously, unless the TES are, in fact, god modding, that should very nicely be a way to defeat em.

Unless, of course, something happens in which this never happens... plus you must think, that they gotta be defeated or they'll screw up the already laid out story future story lines. Hmm, perhaps Zero or X would travel back and... GAH! *brain explodes*

Posted by Game Over on Tue Mar 4th 2008 at 6:20pm
I am telling you the only thing that can save the Heroes is something random that the 2ES haven't planned for. Maybe Quint and Ashura would save them, maybe Metal sonic and the Yellow demon somehow kidnap Vanilla *Creams mom*, maybe Samus comes back and save them. I dont know but Ryan does.

Posted by Dark Star (Guest) on Tue Mar 4th 2008 at 6:52pm
Like I said, Murphy's Law people. "Anything that can go wrong, will go wrong." And I don't care how smart the 2ES are, there is no way in the world they could have planned for every contingency, espcially the really weird ones, like a bunch of chaos suddenly flying out of nowhere and hugging everyone but Megaman and Sonic, effectively rendering them all helpless.

Posted by Malroth (Guest) on Tue Mar 4th 2008 at 7:44pm
Well Chaos was in vanilla's toilet, and the house WAS aboard the space station. So if our favorite progagonist villians happen to accidently be mean to a Chao.....

Posted by yamiblade on Tue Mar 4th 2008 at 7:53pm
Eight billionth time's the charm

Posted by Thrack on Tue Mar 4th 2008 at 8:36pm
Of course, Chaos was hiding from robots that were created by the two scientists so it doesn't seem too likely that Chaos will try and fight them. At least not on his (her? it's?) own and without any chaos emeralds.

Does Murphy's Law have to be in favor of the protagonists? Of course, what the two scientists are doing requires more planning and complexity than what Sonic and Mega Man are trying to do. All Sonic and Mega Man really need to do is destroy it all. If something goes wrong it's more likely going to end up with things not working or not working as well than for those things to be working better than before.
I suppose that means Murphy's Law causes there to be more disorder in the world? I wonder if there's a reverse version of it. We need a law that makes it more likely for ordered things like computers to appear. Have them grow like crystals. That'd be cool.

Posted by Sean (Guest) on Tue Mar 4th 2008 at 8:40pm
At this point if the heroes win and if I were in charge of the government I would have Dr.s Wily and Robotnik excecuted. Before you judge me listen to my logic: we have tried to give them chance after chance and yet they continue to do wrong. They are simply to dangerous to keep around.

Posted by Raganui on Tue Mar 4th 2008 at 9:11pm
This time is because the current government tried to imprison them for who knows how long, after they just helped save the world and had, for some time, been productive, non-evil scientist, members of society.

If I were the Two Eil Scientists I'd just detonate my minions.Sonic and Mega Man are weak without their allies

So basically this is merely throwing salt on the wound. Even when showing act of sheer brilliance, they're STILL arrogant...
