I made this comic a little while ago, but Angel85's recent comments have been perfect setup for this since I don't know if everyone was aware of the secret activation code. However despite the fact that Gerald began reprogramming the Gizoid after the last time it went out of control in the Ark, he never actually completed the reprogramming until after he found out that Maria was dead, since the phrase "bring hope to humanity" were apparently her last words, (though for some reason Gerald added the word "all" to the phrase).

However, since the commander immediately sent the Gizoid out to deal with Mega Man after Gerald was taken from the Ark, Gerald obviously hasn't finished the program. So sorry, no good Gizoid this time.

you know with megaman the way he is Gizoid is expending MASS amount of energy just to keep him under control because there are not only the fire walls he would have to deal with the astensive hardwar and everything that Dr. Light put in him to keep this from happening there is also megamans free will as well so the dinky robot is expending energy at a large rate if all that is the case

Maria knew the activation code? How could she know that, did Mega Man tell her what it is earlier?

DAMMIT! was the exact thing I said when that didn't work. But you're right, according to the timeline set down in the game that program wasn't supposed to be completed until after Maria's death.

I think the Giziod's silence in the 3rd panel still gave a spark in activating this program. Else the Gizoid would have a faster counter line.

It did take the Gizoid a moment to process that information now didn't it?

if teh gizoid's power is to incoerprate teh wepons and strenths of outehrs then by holding mega man like that he might inadvertently finished the good doctors programing since what is more dangerous or powerful then a machine with a heart, soul and mind all it's own able to think beyond it's intended design, and defy it's own programing?

I guess... i dont think he'll try to destroy everything though since he had to think about it. i wonder if Megaman will be able to change the past and let Maria live.... but then what will happen to the future? OW MY HEAD! I'M NOT S'POSED TA THINK! ESPECIALLY LOGICALLY! AAAARRGH!

I'm always a bit confused...According to Shadow's many flashbacks, her last words were "Sayonara, Shadow the Hedgehog." But according to Gerald's Journal, they were "Bring Hope to Humanity." Now, either Gerald was lied to when he was told her final words, or maria said them AFTER she launched Shadow.

Actually, with how hard the Gizoid is working trying to keep MegaMan's body under control, I wouldn't be surprised if MegaMan's conciousness somehow wound up in control of the Gizoid's body.

You forget, even one chaos emerald has an ENORMOUS amount of energy in it. I doubt Gizoid is really stretching himself thin here. Plus, we may find out that Megaman's presence resulted in Maria dying somehow, and Shadow just forgot he was there or something, thus creating a predestination paradox.

Or this could be following "DragonBall Z future Trunks" rules. That you can't change the future by altering the past, you can create a new future where your intervention made it turn out differently from your world, but when you go home it will be to your original timeline, as if nothing happened.

Or it is a time Paradox with Amnesia. It may lead to an easy way of two things. However the world was whecked in the future so... Megaman may be found gave Light Idea and lead to the creation of Quint by finding that the robot is megaman with new knowledge..... The second is the existance of Zero Sonic destroys Zero, and Zero is trapped. Eventually for some time meeting Sonic and Megaman. Confusing? I think so. I just made it up as a guess.

time travel creates alternate dimensions. said it before and i'll say it again.

going with the coin toss theory - which is basically there are two possible outcomes, when one's chosen the other is blocked off and becomes an alternate reality - then as soon as megaman entered this part of the time stream, an alternate line was created as a new set of possiblities presented itself. kinda like the universe's way of preventing crazy time paradoxs that could break the continum in two.

the only real question i'm concerned with is when Ryan comes to bringing megaman home to the present, will it be megaman's present or the present belonging to the alternate timeline?

Oh great... people talking about the ol' Fork in the road situation. I have to refuse to take part in that discussion because I've confused FAR TOO MANY PEOPLE! I research Chaos in all it's forms so I'm quite and expert in multiple dimension theories.

Now, try and remember this. MEGAMAN X is the first robot to be able to think, feel and act on it's own. Megaman mearly follow's his programming. True it looks like he is free from such things, but that is all part of the programming too.
